Helen Vendler

Helen Vendler ha escrito un gran número de libros sobre W. B. Yeats, Wallace Stevens, John Keats y Seamus Heaney. Es la profesora universitaria Kingsley Porter en Harvard University, posición que ha mantenido desde el año 1981. Se casó con el filósofo Zeno Vendler (1921-2004) y tuvo un hijo de este matrimonio. Curiosamente, su primer título universitario no fue en literatura sino en química. Más luego recibió la prestigiosa beca Fullbright en matemáticas, antes de recibir su doctorado en literatura inglesa y estadounidense de Harvard University.

Helen Vendler has written, among other works, books on W. B. Yeats, Wallace Stevens, John Keats, and Seamus Heaney. She is a Kingsley Porter University Professor at Harvard University, where she has had a position since 1981. She married the philosopher Seno Vendler (1921-2004) with whom she had one son. Vendler did not major in English as an undergraduate, but earned her degree in chemistry. She was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for mathematics, before earning her PhD in English & American Literature from Harvard University.
