Christopher Kelen

Christopher Kelen es un conocido poeta australiano cuyas obras han sido ampliamente editadas desde mediados de los años 70. La Oxford Companion to Australian Literture describe la obra de Kelen como “típicamente acompañada de grandes innovaciones e intelectualmente aguda”. Su primer volumen de poesía, The Naming of the Harbour and the Trees ganó en 1992 el premio Anne Elder. En 2005, su poema “Macao” fue finalista para el prestigioso premio Newcastle y una versión re-editada de su poema “Tai Mo Shan” se publicó en Southerly. Kelen enseña inglés en la Universidad de Macao y es el editor de la revista electrónica Writing Macao: creative text and teaching . Sus libros más recientes incluyen Republics y New Territories.

 

Christopher Kelen is a well known Australian poet whose works have been widely published since the mid 70s. The Oxford Companion to Australian Literature describes Kelen's work as “typically innovative and intellectually sharp”. Kelen's first volume of poetry The Naming of the Harbour and the Trees won an Anne Elder Award in 1992. In 2005, Kelen's long poem “ Macao ” was finalist for the prestigious Newcastle Poetry Prize and a re-edited version of “Tai Mo Shan” appeared in Southerly. Kelen teaches English at the University of Macau and is the editor of the on-line journal Writing Macao : creative text and teaching. His most recent volumes of poetry are Republics and New Territories.
