Joris Iven

Joris Iven nació en 1954, en Diepenbeek, Bélgica. En 1980, junto a H. Ter-Nedden, publicó una colección de ensayos sobre literatura hispano americana titulada From the Beak of Hell . También ha publicados libros de traducciones poéticas de los siguiente autores: Nâzim Hikmet, Tahar Ben Jelloun Mazisi Kunene, Kofi Awoonor, Wolf Wondratschek, Wole Soyinka, Abdellatif Laâbi, Dennis Brutus, James Matthews, Sipho Sepamla, Mongane Wally Serote, Oswald Mbuyiseni Mthsali, Raymond Carver, Pearse Hutchinson, Sujata Bhatt, Michael Ondaatje y Christopher Abani, además de haber publicado cuatro volúmenes de su propia poesía: Gallery The Yew-Tree (1987), Egyptian Black (1993), Parchment/Testament (2001) and Altogether (2005), como así también un drama, Pakowski's Duty (1991, 1992).

 

Joris Iven was born in 1954 in Diepenbeek , Belgium . In 1980, with H. Ter-Nedden, he published a collection of essays on Spanish American literature entitled From the Beak of Hell . He has also published translations of books of poetry, such as those of Nâzim Hikmet, Tahar Ben Jelloun Mazisi Kunene, Kofi Awoonor, Wolf Wondratschek, Wole Soyinka, Abdellatif Laâbi, Dennis Brutus, James Matthews, Sipho Sepamla, Mongane Wally Serote, Oswald Mbuyiseni Mthsali, Raymond Carver, Pearse Hutchinson, Sujata Bhatt, Michael Ondaatje and Christopher Abani. He published four volumes of poetry of his own, Gallery The Yew-Tree (1987), Egyptian Black (1993), Parchment/Testament (2001) and Altogether (2005), as well as a play, Pakowski's Duty (1991, 1992).
