Gil-Won Lee

Gil-Won Lee nació en Corea en 1945 y se graduó de la Universidad de Yonsei, en Seúl. Ha contribuido con su obra poética en revistas literarias y otras publicaciones coreanas. También ha ocupado varios puestos en organizaciones literarias, tales como la Asociación Moderna de Poetas Coreanos, el PEN de Corea y la Asociación Coreana de Escritores. Entre sus libros de poesía se destacan One Day Becoming a Tree (1993), Sitting on an Eggshell (1996), Meditations on Gingko Nuts Left by Father (2000), y Hahoe Mask Self-Portrait (2002). Su poesía se caracteriza por una visión contemplativa de las cosas, las personas y los eventos del diario vivir, como así también por su buen sentido del humor. Una selección de sus poemas, por vez primera, es editada en castellano aquí en Sirena.

 

Gil-Won Lee, born in Korea in 1945, graduated from Yonsei University in Seoul . He has been contributing his poetic work to poetry magazines and other publications in Korea . He has held various positions in literary organizations such as the Korean Modern Poets Association, the Korean PEN Center , and the Korean Writers Association, among others. His books of poetry include One Day Becoming a Tree (1993), Sitting on an Eggshell (1996), Meditations on Gingko Nuts Left by Father (2000), and Hahoe Mask Self-Portrait (2002). His poetry is marked, among other characteristics, by a highly contemplative outlook on things, persons and everyday events and a good sense of humor. A selection of his poems, for the first time ever, is published in Spanish here in Sirena.
